One – RP conduct
Either make people clean up their RP hygiene or simply ignore them.
Two – Timing
Scheduling Roleplays should be avoided. If you all want to work together and create a timecard – who might be on when – then feel free to do so. If you set a schedule, then it feels less like fun and more like work or school. Get on whenever and wait for someone else to arrive. If you want to let people know you will definitely be at a certain time, then go right ahead.
Three – Demonic Powers/Weapons
If you have supernatural powers other than “I’m a unicorn”, be careful. If someone thinks they’re overpowered, then stop. If I find a whiner, you get a one day break.
Four – Multiple Personalities
Unless you have MPD, refrain from multiple personalities. Danny/Choppy, Halluxx, Writer, and Apoc are a few exceptions. If you have multiple Ocs, that’s a different story.
Five – Death
RPs are not set in stone, nor are they tied to the physics of the real world. If your character dies, you can bring them back later with little effort.
NOTE: Don’t do this immediately after your defeat/death or it will be considered godmodding.
EXAMPLE:
P1: (after a battle) *decapitates you*
P2: AUGH NO I AM THE DEAD D:
P2: (a bit later when convenient) *comes back to life*
Unless it plays into a future plan, you don’t even have to give an explanation.
NOTE: For some of you, I know it may feel weird to just leave that loose end there. When another sees you creating some elaborate backstory for your fortunate return, they will feel obligated to come up with their own, and it will just get out of hand.
Six – OC Killing
If you don’t want your OC to die, tell people. If they kill you anyway, refer to rule Five. If they repetitively kill your OC without regard for what you say, get me or a Mod and we’ll solve it, usually with a temporary ban.
Seven – Godmodding
If you think someone is godmodding, tell them. If they continue, ask the others for their opinion. If they agree, ignore the godmodder. If the godmodder annoys you, get me or a Mod. See Six for consequences.
NOTE: If you want to have an RP using what others might consider godmodding or overpowered, simply put “OP RP” somewhere in the initial comment and isolate it to a separate thread.
Eight – Rape, CP, etc.
No. Once is a temporary ban, usually 1-3 days. Twice is 2 days to a week. Thrice will result in an indefinite ban.
Nine – General Asshattery and Rampant Douchbaggery
Go right ahead, but you’ll probably be less liked than Dia at his worst.
Ten – Spam
Nobody likes spam. If you spam stuff, your comment will be replaced with a cat. If you continue spamming, you will get the day off. If, after one-day-ban, you’re still spamming, you get a two-day-ban. If you continue, you’ll get a three-, four-, and eventually five-day-ban. If you STILL don’t get the hint, you get the boot.
Okay, let’s try that again
Screw it, I’m trying to embed
Amir never ceases to amuse me.
Did you type <img src=”http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m9g12dENqL1rqfhi2o1_250.gif”>?
without the lines for me makes
Okay, I will copy paste exactly what you wrote this time
Embedding doesn’t work for anyone except the Administrator or Moderators apparently
That means that Ten is partially irrelevant.
There should be different rules for fighting RPs.
The rules were almost specifically written for fighting RP’s
What other RPs are there really
Non-fighting RPs. They happen all the time.
Since those who participate in fighting RPs are usually those accused of being godmodders because of their character’s power, I think the “no powers” rule should not apply to battles. Make it simply so that we are not allowed to use powers in non-fighting RPs.
It’s not “No Powers”, It’s “No Unlimited or Seemingly Unlimited Power”. No “Oh yeah? Well I went back in time and killed your parents before you were born!” kinda shit.
That’s what little kids do in imaginary cowboy fights. I never did that and I was still called a godmodder all the time. And unlimited power works for “just for fun” RPs, but it is unfair that your character never gets hit, damaged, or that he always gets to hit or nearly kill the other. Me, and I suppose the other fighters, really do not care about the amount of power as long as it is a fair battle. I suppose you could place a limit, just as long as it is not too low.
I think you might have to take that up with other people before you speak for everyone
That’s why I said “I suppose”. It was not an affirmation.
Perfectly alright in a “For da lulz” RP, but if people say you’re godmodding AND everyone agrees with them, then tone down whatever power they’re talking about. If someone whines about your character specifically even when you’re not godmodding, then talk to me and I can give a temporary vacation.
Yes, that’s why I said our power should be limited to the battles. If we’re just having a fight ourselves and then someone suddenly comes in, calls us all godmodders, and reports us to you, I wouldn’t consider that fair.
That would fall under “whiner”.
Therefore if everyone in the fight agrees on a high level of power we use supernatural abilities, I assume?
can use*
As long as it’s an isolated thread, yes. Simply put “OP RP Here” somewhere in the initial comment.
Alright, that helps. Thanks.
You should comment that in the rules so that nobody starts complaining later.
Already taken care of.
Magnifique!
…
No comment?
“If you spam stuff, your comment will be replaced with a cat.”
Ok… not sure I saw that one coming…
You can see an example on Surf’s comment in the RP section.
Also nice icon.
Surf commented?
OOOOO DIS GON B GUD
Rule 4 is kinda disappointing. I agree it should be moderated, but on the other hand I think it should be all or nothing.
Howdy
Oh noes
